"Stig Blomqvist has taken the lead of the Production Car World Rally Championship following the exclusion of Polish Mitsubishi driver Janusz Kulig from the Swedish Rally.
On the road, Kulig pipped Subaru man Blomqvist by three seconds, but post-event scrutiny revealed that his Lancer Evo VI was fitted with a non-standard flywheel. Although it was the same size and weight as a standard item, the FIA has deemed it illegal and at the age of 56, 1984 Champion Blomqvist is therefore leading a World Championship once more."
